Some customer stories stop us in our tracks—not just because they’re about scooters, but because they’re about life, resilience, and the unshakable human spirit. Carla Y.’s journey is one of those stories.
In early 2020, Carla’s life looked very different. As a personal trainer, she specialized in working with seniors who had unique health and fitness needs. She spent her days traveling to her clients’ homes, helping them live stronger, healthier lives. But just as the world was beginning to shut down with the onset of the pandemic, Carla’s own health began to shift dramatically.
She developed severe pain and swelling in her feet and ankles—pain so intense that by March 2020, she could hardly walk. What she didn’t know then was that she was facing a battle with severe osteoarthritis and osteoporosis—a diagnosis that would take doctors over two years to uncover.
As if navigating that health challenge wasn’t enough, Carla’s personal world was shaken even more deeply. In April 2021, in the midst of her struggle, her husband of many years left unexpectedly, sending only a text message to say he was filing for divorce. “He said my wheelchair made him feel too sad,” Carla recalls. What followed was heartbreak, shock, and the overwhelming task of figuring out how to carry on.
And that’s where EuroScooter came in—not as a solution to everything, but as a small piece of freedom when Carla needed it most.
Her elderly parents, both in their mid-80s, came to her side and brought her one of their own Euroshine scooters. “This helped me so much in the days that followed,” Carla says. “I was able to use my scooter to take out my own trash, walk my 5lb Pomeranian, and go to the store just a mile from my home.”
Over time, that scooter became more than just a mobility aid. It became a lifeline. Today, Carla uses her EuroScooter to take the local bike trail to her senior center, where she works out at the gym and continues to prioritize her health and independence.
“Thank you, EuroScooter, for helping me have a life after heartbreak and mobility issues.” – Carla Y.
Carla’s story is more than a customer review—it’s a reminder of why we do what we do. At EuroScooter, we don’t just build scooters. We build tools for freedom, dignity, and connection. And we are honored to be a part of Carla’s journey toward healing, resilience, and rediscovered joy.
Thank you, Carla, for letting us share your story. You inspire us, and we know your courage will inspire so many others too.
